UARK accounts for email and university systems

Summary

Your UARK account allows you to securely access university services, including email, campus Wi-Fi, Blackboard, Workday, and more.

Body

The university creates a primary UARK account for each new student and each new employee, and these are assigned by role (faculty, staff, student). Your UARK account allows you to use your account username and password securely log into and access university email, campus Wi-Fi, TeamsBlackboard, Workday, Workday Student, OneDrive cloud storage, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft applications, lab computers, and other university services.

A secondary, non-primary UARK account can be requested using the Request Secondary Account button on the right.

UARK Secondary/Non-Primary Accounts

Faculty and staff can request a non-primary UARK account as an additional account for a shared mailbox or for an admin, guest, service (for automated services), test, or third-party account by clicking the Request Secondary Account button on the right. Email may be requested on the request form for some non-primary accounts.

See our article about Secondary/Non-Primary UARK Accounts for more information.

Retiree and Emeritus accounts

Retiree accounts are given to retired staff and faculty, and Emeritus accounts are granted to individuals who have been awarded Emeritus status by the Board of Trustees. The account is typically the former primary account, keeping the same username, but with all elevated privileges and group memberships removed unless an exemption is granted. Retiree and emeritus accounts retain email access.

Retirees and Emeritus users can contact Human Resources to determine eligibility for maintaining a UARK account.

Affiliate accounts

Affiliate accounts can be granted to those not employed by the university or enrolled as students who have a legitimate need to access university resources. Affiliate accounts can access campus Wi-Fi, Workday, email and other online services. Most affiliations are short-term and end within a year.

RSO Accounts

RSO (Registered Student Organization) UARK accounts are set up by the Office of Student Activities, and the owner of all RSO accounts is the Office of Student Activities (OSA) Office Manager.

Contact the Office of Student Activities for information regarding accounts for RSOs.
