Setting up a new UARK account

The university creates a UARK account for each new student and each new employee. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is also set up on new accounts using the personal email address and phone number from the student's or employee's application.

Before setting up your UARK account, make sure you have:

  • The personal email address and phone number that you used to apply as a student or employee.
  • Access to the phone with that same phone number for setting up multi-factor authentication.
  • Your UARK email address, found in the Undergraduate New Student Center or Graduate New Student Center for students, or provided to employees by their supervisor in Workday.

Set up your UARK account

Set up your account password

  1. Go to passwordreset.microsoftonline.com.
Note: You may need to open an incognito or private browser window if you have a personal Microsoft account already logged in.
  2. Enter your UARK email address and fill in the Captcha.

  3. Select I forgot my password, and a multi-factor authentication (MFA) code will be sent to the personal email address or phone number you provided in your admissions or employment application.
  4. Enter the MFA code sent to you to authenticate.
  5. Create a password. Read the UARK password requirements to confirm that you are entering an appropriate password.
Note: If you get an error message, click the Back button on your browser and try a more complex password.

Set up MFA

After you have set the password for your account, the next step is to set up MFA on your account for added security.

See our article on setting up multi-factor authentication (MFA) on your UARK account.
