Understanding UARK Account Passwords

A secure password is important for protecting your account and the university's data.

UARK password requirements

Passwords must:

  • Be 14 to 32 characters in length.
  • Contain three out of four character types: lowercase (a-z), uppercase (A-Z), numbers (0-9) and special characters.
  • NOT contain spaces, tabs or control characters.
  • NOT contain any personal information such as your name, address, birth date, or be any derivative of your username.
  • NOT contain University-related key words, such as "Razorback" or "Hogs".  
  • NOT match previous 24 passwords. 

Changing your UARK password

To update your primary UARK account password, go to account.uark.edu.

When you reset your UARK password, you must sign out of your campus desk phone and then sign back in.

If you are unable to update your password or access your account with your new password, contact the IT Help Desk

If your UARK account was accessed by someone else, update your password immediately and create a ticket.

Forgotten UARK password

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it online using account recovery options. Go to:
account.uark.edu
When prompted to sign in, click "Can’t access your account?" and follow the instructions to reset your password.

To reset a departmental account password, go to:
password.uark.edu
and click Manage Departmental Accounts. Log in with your primary UARK account information. Your secondary accounts will be listed. Check the box(es) of the account(s) for which you want to change the password, and type the new password in the New Password field and the Confirm Password field. Click Submit.
