If you have forgotten your primary or a non-primary UARK account password, you can reset it using account recovery options if you have set an alternate email address to use as a password recovery method. If you are unable to reset your password, you will need to call the Help Desk or create a ticket.
Note: UARK account passwords can only be changed or reset by the account owner, which may not be the primary user of a secondary account, such as an RSO account., guest account, or third-party account.
If you have forgotten your UARK account password:
- Click “Can’t access your account?” or “Forgot my password” from a sign-in prompt, or go to:
https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
- Enter the email address of the account for which you are recovering the password in the Email or Username field, and complete the Captcha field. Click Next.

- Select “I forgot my password”, and click Next.

- Select Email my alternate email for verification. Check the partial email address shown as your recovery email. Click the Email button.
- For a primary UARK account, the alternate email address will be the email used to apply as a student or employee unless the email address has been changed.
- For a secondary/non-primary UARK account, the alternate email address will be your primary UARK account email address unless the address has been changed.

- An email containing a code will be sent to the recovery email address.

- Enter the code that was emailed to your alternate email account, and click Next.

- For the next verification, select Text my mobile phone (or select to call instead of text to the same phone number). Check the partial phone number shown as your recovery phone number. Enter this same phone number in the “Enter your phone number” field. Click the Text button.
- For a primary UARK account, the verification phone number will be the number used to apply as a student or employee unless the number has been changed.
- For a secondary/non-primary UARK account, the verification phone number will match your primary UARK account verification number.

- A text message with a verification code will be sent to the recovery phone number.

- Enter the code that was texted to your verification phone number, and click Next.

- Create a new password for the account. Type the new password into the Enter new password field and the Confirm new password field. Click the Finish button.
See the UARK account password requirements for help in creating a new password.

If your password does not meet the requirements, you will receive an error message and will need to try a different password.

- After entering an appropriate new password, you will receive the message (and email) that your password has been reset. You will now be able to log into and access university resources.

If you were unable to reset your password, please call the Help Desk or create a ticket.
