Affiliate accounts can be granted to those not employed by the university or enrolled as students who have a legitimate need to access university resources. Affiliate accounts can access campus Wi-Fi, Workday, email and other online services. Most affiliations are short-term and end within a year.
Note: A UARK account is not necessary for guests to access the unsecured wireless network UARK Guest Wi-Fi. Those visiting from eduroam participating institutions can also connect to the eduroam wireless network.
Step 1: Request a university ID
Request a University ID: Academic Affiliates
Academic affiliates include visiting speakers, researchers and faculty.
To request a University ID number, contact the academic unit or the college's administrative office. Date of birth is required.
In order to take advantage of library privileges, the affiliate will need a University ID card from the Campus Card Office.
Request a University ID: Non-academic Affiliates
Non-academic affiliates include vendors, contractors, consultants and those with an athletics affiliation.
To request a University ID number, a non-academic affiliate should contact the HR partner of the college or department with which they will be affiliated and request to be added as a contingent worker in Workday. Date of birth and Social Security number are required.
Step 2: Activate the account
Go to password.uark.edu and use the University ID number provided for the affiliate to complete the account activation.
Affiliate account expiration and renewal
Affiliate accounts expire regularly, and the expiration date depends on the type of affiliate and the account setup.
Student affiliates must contact the dean's office of their college.
Employees and former employees should contact their department's HR representative. In order to keep an affiliate account active, the department’s HR division must adjust the begin and end dates as a Contingent Worker in Workday. The affiliate status must be renewed for affiliate workers.
