Note: If you are a new student or employee needing to set up your new primary UARK account, see our instructions to Set up a new primary UARK account.
A secondary/non-primary UARK account will be active and ready for setup 24 hours after the owner has received notification that the account has been created.
To set up a new non-primary UARK account, you will use:
- Your primary UARK account email. Secondary accounts have the owner’s primary UARK account email address as the email verification method. The email address can be changed, but cannot be changed back to the primary UARK account email address.
- The phone number you have registered with your primary UARK account.
- The new secondary/non-primary account email address that was created from your request.
Step 1: Set a password
- Go to:
https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
- Enter the email address of the new secondary account in the Email or Username field, and complete the Captcha field. Click Next.

- Select “I forgot my password”, and click Next.

- Select Email my alternate email for verification, and click the Email button.

- An email containing a code will be sent to your primary UARK account email address.

- Enter the code that was emailed to your primary UARK account, and click Next.

- For the next verification, select Text my mobile phone (or select to call to the same phone number). The verification phone number will match your primary UARK account verification number. Enter this same phone number in the “Enter your phone number” field. Click the Text button.

- A text message with a verification code will be sent to the verification phone number.

- Enter the code that was texted to your verification phone number, and click Next.

- Create a password for the new account. Type the password into the Enter new password field and the Confirm new password field. Click the Finish button.
See the UARK account password requirements for help in creating a password.

If your password does not meet the requirements, you will receive an error message and will need to try a different password.

- After entering an appropriate new password, you will receive the message (and email) that your password has been reset.

If you were unable to reset your password, please call the Help Desk or create a ticket.
Step 2: Set up MFA
After you have set the password for your account, you must set up MFA on your account to securely log into and access university resources.
See our Secondary/Non-Primary UARK Accounts article for more information.
