Adding Related Articles and Related Services to a KB Article

Use Related Articles and Related Services to display links to related articles and services on the right side of the article or service and to add a service request button to the article. Relating articles and services can also affect search results.  

Related articles

To add a Related Article to a KB article:

  1. Save the article if newly created, and click Edit Article.
  2. Click the Related Articles tab.
  3. Click the Add button.
  4. Search for the related articles by clicking the Lookup button (magnifying glass).
  5. Search for the related articles or services.
  6. Check the checkbox on the left of all articles or services to set as related.
  7. Click the Insert Checked button.
  8. Click Save.

The article that is set as related to the article being edited will also display the edited article as related.

Multiple articles can be related to an article.

Related services

To add a related service or services to an article:

  1. Save the article if newly created, and click Edit Article.
  2. Click the Related Services tab.
  3. Click the Add button to add a new related service.
  4. Search for the related articles by clicking the Lookup button (magnifying glass).
  5. Search for the related service.
  6. Check the checkbox on the left of all services that are related.
  7. Click the Insert Checked button.
  8. To have the service request button displayed in the article, in the list of related services, click No in the Display Request Service Button column to toggle to Yes.
  9. Click Save.

The service that is set as related to the article will also display the article as related, and services can be related to an article through the service by clicking Edit Service, and clicking the Related Articles tab.

Multiple services can be related to an article.
