Sending a File to Print in a Tech Spot Lab

PrintSmart allows you to print to a Tech Spot Computer Lab. On campus, you must use UARK Wi-Fi (not Guest or Registered) when sending a file to print. If you are off campus, connect with GlobalProtect VPN.

Log into PrintSmart

To send a file to print in a Tech Spot Computer Lab:

  1. Log into printsmart.uark.edu with your UARK username and password.
  2. From the Web Print screen, click the Submit a Job button.
  3. Select one of the “Tech Spot Labs” printer options. Do not select the Physics & Chemistry Library printer unless you are in the chem lab.
    • B&W Double-Sided Printing
    • B&W Single-Sided Printing
    • Color Double-Sided Printing
    • Color Single-Sided Printing

Notes: Color printing is available at the Union Computer Lab and the Mullins Computer Lab. The color printers will NOT print duplex.

  1. Click the Print Options and Account Selection button.
  2. Type the number of copies to print.
  3. Click the Upload Documents button.
  4. Drag and drop document files into the box, or click the Upload from computer button to select the document files to upload for printing.
  5. Click the Upload & Complete button.

At a print release station located near the printers in a Tech Spot Computer lab, the submitted document will be “held in queue”. Log in at the release station with your UARK username and password, and select Print or Print All to release the document(s) to the printer.
Note: Documents not released in a 2-3 hour period will be automatically cancelled.

Tech Spot computer labs are located across campus and offer printing, charging stations and access to a wide range of software like Microsoft Office, SPSS, SAS and more.
For faculty and staff who are off campus, virtual private network (VPN) is essential for accessing on-campus remote desktops, servers, and other resources. VPN is like a tunnel that allows UARK users to access university resources securely, while prohibiting unauthorized incoming traffic. VPN may be required to access certain systems, services or applications, even when the user is on campus.
Each semester, a student can print up to the equivalent of 350 single-sided black toner pages (a value of $35) without charge.
