The UARK Wi-Fi network is the most reliable, widespread, and secure network to connect to on campus. Use your UARK username and password as credentials to connect to the UARK Wi-Fi.
NOTE: If you are having difficulties connecting to UARK Wi-Fi, a common troubleshooting practice is to Forget the network on your device and reconnect to the network.
NOTE: If you live in a residence hall on campus and are trying to connect to a Wi-Fi or wired network, please follow the directions on the ResNet site for Housing IT assistance.

- Select the Network icon or the Wi-Fi icon in the notification area on the taskbar.

Select the > icon next to the Wi-Fi icon to see a list of available networks.

Select UARK Wi-Fi.

Check the box "Connect automatically".

Select Connect.

Type in your UARK username and password.

Select OK.

- Open the Start menu. Mouse over or swipe in from the upper right corner of the screen, and click Settings.
- Click the Network icon.
- Right-click the wireless network, and click "Forget this network."

Windows 7
Warning: Before creating your Wi-Fi connection in Windows 7, make sure all Windows updates are installed.
Note: Due to possible issues with Windows 7, users are required to add university wireless networks manually.
Add Wi-Fi Network

Open the Start menu and Select Control Panel.

Select Network and Internet. Select Network and Sharing Center.

Select Manage Wireless Networks. Select Add.

Select Manually create a network profile, and enter UARK Wi-Fi in the Network name field.

Select WPA2-Enterprise from the Security type drop-down menu. Select Next.

Select Change connection settings. Open the Security tab and Select Settings.

Make sure Validate server certificate is checked. Check the Connect to these servers box and enter wifiauth.uark.edu in the field.

Check the Add Trust External CA Root box under the Trusted Root Certification Authorities.

Select Configure under Select Authentication Method. Uncheck the box. Select OK. Select OK again.

Select Advanced settings. Check the Specify authentication mode box. Select User authentication from the drop-down menu.

Select OK. Select OK. Select Close.

Select the wireless connection icon in the Windows system tray. Select UARK Wi-Fi, and Select Connect.

Enter your UARK username and password. Select OK.
Troubleshooting Windows 7

- Open the Start menu, and click Control Panel.
- Click "Network and Internet." Click "Network Sharing Center."
- Click "Manage Wireless Networks."
- Highlight the wireless network and right-click.
- Click Remove Network. Click Yes.

MacOS

Select the Airport icon in the upper right corner.

Select UARK Wi-Fi from the list of available networks.

Enter your UARK username and password.

When prompted to accept the certificate, select Continue. Enter your system's keychain password and, select OK.

- Open System Preferences from the Apple menu. Click Network.
- Select the wireless network from the drop-down menu and click Advanced.
- Highlight the wireless network and click (-) to remove the connection. Click OK. Click Apply.
Follow the setup instructions above to create a new connection.
iPhone

Select UARK Wi-Fi from the list of available networks.

Troubleshooting Note: If you are experiencing problems connecting, remove the connection profile from your device and create a new one. To remove the connection:

Open Settings. Select Wi-Fi.

Select the Info icon to the right of the wireless network.

Select Forget this Network.

Android
Android is used across a variety of devices, each with slightly different ways of setting up a Wi-Fi network. If you are experiencing issues setting up UARK Wi-Fi on an Android device, use the settings provided below.
Select UARK Wi-Fi from the list of available networks. Open the Wi-Fi advanced settings menu and select the following security settings:

The following instructions provide the security settings for connecting to UARK Wi-Fi in the Linux operating system Ubuntu.

In the Wireless Network Authentication window's Wireless Security tab, choose the following settings:

Wireless security: WPA and WPA2 Enterprise

Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)

Anonymous identity: leave blank
- CA certificate: (None)

PEAP version: Automatic

Inner authentication: MSCHAPv2

Enter your UARK username and password.

Select Connect. A warning that you have not chosen a certificate authority will appear. Select Ignore.
Note: You may be prompted to enter a new keyring password. Create a keyring password, and Select OK.
