Microsoft’s Power Platform provides tools for data analysis, reporting, workflow automation, and low-code application development. The Power Platform includes Power BI Pro, Power BI Premium, Power Automate, and Power Apps Premium.
These Microsoft applications are not included with Office 365.
Use the Request Microsoft Desktop Software request button on the right to request Microsoft Power Platform applications. Workday worktag information is required on the request form for chargeback. Contact your department's financial contact for this number.
IT Services does not provide support for the software beyond ensuring the appropriate license is purchased and provisioned.
Microsoft Power BI Pro
Power BI Pro is used for data analysis, reporting, and visualization and allows users to create, publish, and share interactive reports and dashboards with other Pro users and collaborate in workspaces. Everyone who views shared content must also have Power BI Pro, unless Premium capacity is used.
Power BI Pro is not a desktop application, but a license that allows you to share and collaborate on Power BI reports within the online Power BI service. Power BI Desktop is the desktop application for creating and developing Power BI reports, and it can be downloaded and used for free by anyone, regardless of whether they have a Pro license.
This license is available to most of the campus community already via the Microsoft A5 license and can be accessed from your Apps dashboard. Use the Request Microsoft Desktop Software request button on the right if you do not have Power BI on your Apps dashboard.
Microsoft Power BI Premium
Power BI Premium provides enterprise-scale capacity for Power BI content with improved performance, larger dataset size limits, and organization-wide dashboards and reports. Creators still usually need Power BI Pro, but viewers do not need Pro licenses if content is hosted with Premium.
Cost: $55.13/year per user

Power Automate
Power Automate is used for process automation and reducing repetitive administrative work by building automated workflows between applications, systems, and services and replacing manual processes.
Cost: Per user plan for faculty is $8.30/month or $99.60/year.

Power Apps Premium
Power Apps Premium enables users to quickly build custom applications using advanced data sources to run on web or mobile devices.
Cost: Plan for faculty is $11/month or $132/annually.
