Audience: Community Admins in Viva Engage
Responsible Group: IT Training and Outreach
Overview
Community Admins play a vital role in maintaining a respectful and professional environment in Viva Engage. In addition to fostering collaboration, Admins are responsible for actively moderating their community, reporting etiquette violations, and ensuring corrective actions are taken to protect members and uphold university values.
Community admin responsibilities
- Active moderation: Monitor community discussions regularly to ensure posts and comments follow community etiquette guidelines.
- Report serious violations: If you encounter offensive, discriminatory, threatening, or otherwise serious etiquette violations, report them immediately at report.uark.edu.
- Take corrective action: Address harmful posts by removing or editing content if necessary, and communicate clearly with the community. Corrective actions may include:
- Issuing an apology to the community if harm has been caused.
- Re-establishing community etiquette expectations to remind members of appropriate behavior.
- Following up with individuals who may need additional guidance.
- Escalate concerns: If a violation poses a safety risk, involves harassment, or escalates beyond community-level management, escalate to university officials through report.uark.edu.
Tip: Setting the tone early by reminding members of etiquette expectations can help prevent issues before they arise.
