Sign In with Passkey

Overview

Audience: Students, Faculty, Staff, Affiliates

After setting up a passkey, you will use it to sign into university resources like Outlook, Workday, and Teams. The sign-in process will look slightly different depending on whether you are using:

• Your assigned work computer managed by the university
• A shared computer or device
• The mobile phone where your passkey is stored

The following instructions will help you understand what to expect when using your passkey when signing in to different kinds of devices. Please note that these instructions may vary. 

Assigned Work Computer

1. In a web browser, navigate to a university resource, such as the My Apps page.
2. On the Pick an account screen, select your UARK email address.
   
   
    
3. If prompted for your password, do one of the following:
   • Select Use your face, fingerprint, PIN, or security key instead to skip entering your password.
   • Enter your password and then authenticate with your passkey.
4. On the Sign in with a passkey screen, follow the prompt to authenticate with your passkey (PIN, Touch ID, or Facial Recognition.

You are signed in when the requested university resource opens.

Shared Computer or Device

A shared device is a computer or other device used by multiple people rather than assigned to one individual. Examples on campus include classroom computer workstations, conference room computers, and computer labs. The steps below are the same for signing into the computer or device itself, and when accessing resources like Workday on that device.

1. On the computer or device, select Sign In
   
   
    
2. Enter your UARK email address.
   
   
    
3. If prompted for your password, do one of the following:
   • Select Use your face, fingerprint, PIN, or security key instead to skip entering your password.
   • Enter your password and then authenticate with your passkey.
     
     
      
4. Under Choose a passkey, select iPhone, iPad, or Android Device.
   
   
    
5. When a QR code appears, scan it using your mobile device’s camera.
6. On your mobile device, select Use passkey.
7. Follow the prompt on your mobile device to authenticate with your passkey.

After you authenticate on your mobile device, you are signed in on the shared computer or device when the resource opens. 

Mobile Phone Where Passkey is Stored

1. On your mobile phone, navigate to a university resource.
2. On the Pick an account screen, select your UARK email address.
3. On the Sign in screen, select Use passkey.
4. Follow the prompt to authenticate using your passkey.

You are signed in when the requested university resource opens.
