Business Analyst 30 / 60 / 90-Day Onboarding Checklist

This checklist guides new Business Analysts (BAs) through their first 90 days within the Business Process Management (BPM) team. It provides a structured progression of learning, application, and ownership to develop expertise in business process optimization.

Phase 1: Foundations & Learning (Days 1–30)

Goal: Build foundational knowledge, understand team structure, and establish key relationships.

Day 1    Welcome, Expectations & Orientation Review the BA role, team structure, and onboarding checklist. Set communication expectations and meet stakeholders in HR, IT, and BPM.
Day 2 Governance & Workday Management Overview of BPM governance structure, compliance standards, and how Workday is managed institutionally.
Day 3 Access Setup & Ticket System Overview Confirm access to Workday (Prod, SBX, TST), Jira, and TDX. Learn dashboard setup and navigation basics.
Day 4 Workday Basics Training Learn Workday navigation, worklets, search functionality, and foundational reports. Understand how approval workflows function.
Day 5 High-Level Review of BPM Projects Overview of major BPM optimization initiatives and how projects are prioritized and structured.

Day 9 Process Mapping Introduction to BPM mapping standards using Visio and Excel-based tools.
Day 10 Project Management via TDX Learn how BPM manages projects from intake to prioritization.
