AI Tools at the University of Arkansas
This service is available to Faculty, Staff, and Graduate assistant/student employee when a department is funding the request.
To submit a request, select the Request AI Tools button at the top right of the page. The individual listed as the requestor is who will be assigned the license. Please do not submit multiple names and requests on a ticket. Please submit one ticket per requestor. You will provide details about your request, and it will follow this approval chain:
- Supervisor
- Department Head/Chair
- Chief Business Officer (CBO)
Requests that receive all required approvals will then be routed to IT Services for chargeback processing and license provisioning.
Pricing
License Term
- All licenses expire on September 1.
- Requests submitted before March 1 will be billed for a full year.
- Requests submitted after March 1 will be prorated for a six-month term.

Copilot Chat is a conversational AI experience that provides general-purpose assistance across a wide range of topics. It is not tied to specific Microsoft 365 documents or apps, and it does not have access to your organizational data unless explicitly integrated.
Microsoft 365 Copilot
$240 per year per license
Microsoft 365 Copilot is an AI-powered productivity assistant embedded directly into Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. It helps users create, edit, summarize, and analyze content using natural language prompts, all within the context of their documents, emails, meetings, and data. It is designed to enhance workplace productivity by leveraging organizational data securely and contextually.
ChatGPT Edu
ChatGPT supports learning, research, and professional productivity by providing conversational answers, content generation, and brainstorming assistance. Unlike general search engines, ChatGPT allows interactive, context-aware conversations. It can simplify complex information, provide writing and productivity support, and serve as a study or teaching aid. Use it to support coursework, lesson planning, projects or professional tasks.

Worktag Entry in the Request Process
Depending on your department’s practices, Worktags can be added at different points in the approval chain:
- Requestor
If your request will be funded by research funds or you already know the Worktag, you can enter it at the time you submit your request.
- Supervisor
If your supervisor knows the appropriate Worktag, they may enter it during their approval step.
- Department Head/Chair
If Worktags are managed at the department-head level, they may provide the Worktag during their approval.
- Chief Business Officer (CBO)
If your department relies on the business officer to supply Worktags, the CBO can enter the information during their approval step.
