Overview
The IT Training and Outreach group on the UARK Help Portal (help.uark.edu) is part of IT Services. Our mission is to connect people, resources, and technology to help the University community grow their technical and professional skills.
We focus on building a culture of continuous learning, digital literacy, and professional development. We collaborate with other training and development teams across campus.
What makes us different
Technology evolves quickly. Our role is to ensure students, faculty and staff have the skills they need to keep up with technological changes.
- Upskill campus in everyday productivity and advanced technical skills.
- Reduce duplicate or siloed training across departments.
- Provide strategic, measurable learning outcomes that support career growth.
- Ensure training connects back to the university’s strategic priorities.
What we do
We design and deliver learning opportunities that support:
- Technology skills: Microsoft 365, collaboration tools, data literacy, IT policy awareness, and accessibility.
- Professional IT training: Service management, documentation, project management, leadership, and advanced IT skills.
- Campus-wide development: Faculty, staff, and students can build IT skills for success in learning, teaching, research, and administrative work.
- Content curation: We connect you with trusted, vetted resources like LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft Learn, Adobe Learn, and vendor-led training.
- Communities of Practice: We support IT professionals and campus staff through peer learning and knowledge-sharing networks.
