A MAC address is also referred to as the network adapter address, physical address, Ethernet ID or hardware address. The MAC address is represented as a 12 character hexadecimal expression, for example, "00-00-C0-8E-A1-DE."
Windows
- Open the Start Menu and click Settings (gear icon).
- Click Network & internet on the left.
- Click Advanced network settings.
- Click Hardware and connection properties.
- The MAC address will be under Physical address (MAC).
macOS (OS X)
- Open System Preferences from the Apple menu or the Dock.
- Click the Network icon.
- Select Ethernet Connection from the list on the left.
- Click Advanced.
- Click the Hardware tab to display the MAC address.
Note: In earlier versions of OS X, click the Ethernet tab.
Android
- Open Settings from the App menu or the top tray.
- Tap Wi-Fi. Click the gear icon in the top right.
The MAC address will be displayed near the bottom of the list.
iOS (iPhone, iPad)
- Open Settings.
- Tap General.
- Tap About.
- Scroll down until you see "Wi-Fi address."
