These are the standards, requirements, and recommendations for students purchasing a computer to use in their university courses. The requirements can vary by college and degree.
Minimum university standards
The majority of colleges and schools on the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville campus recommends students own a computer that at least meets these minimum university standards:
- U5 or M3 processor +
- 16GB RAM
- 256GB storage
- webcam
- 3-year accidental damage protection warranty
- Microsoft Office (provided by the university)
Note: Chromebooks and iPads do not meet the minimum system requirements.
