AI-Powered Coaching is an artificial intelligence feature within LinkedIn Learning that helps learners discover content, receive personalized recommendations, ask questions about learning topics, and interact with AI-generated coaching while learning. AI Coaching supports “learning in the flow of work” by helping users better understand concepts, apply skills to real-world situations, and practice professional communication scenarios.

AI Coaching can be accessed from multiple locations within LinkedIn Learning:

  • AI Coaching option in the left-navigation menu
  • Search bar within LinkedIn Learning - it is automatically turned on in the Search
  • During video playback while watching supported LinkedIn Learning courses - it automatically appears as a left panel when used in desktop view

The AI experience uses LinkedIn profile information, learning history, followed skills, and course transcript data to personalize responses and recommendations.

Access

You can access LinkedIn Learning AI Coaching from a web browser or mobile device using your @uark.edu account.

Step 1: Log into LinkedIn Learning

Access the directions from this article, How to Log On to LinkedIn Learning.

Step 2: Access AI Coaching

Option A: From the Left Navigation Menu (desktop)

  1. Once logged into LinkedIn learning, locate the left-side navigation menu.
  2. Select AI Coaching or the AI Coaching sparkle icon.

  3. Type a question, topic, or skill you want help learning.

Examples:

  • “Help me learn project management basics.”
  • “Recommend leadership courses for first-time managers.”
  • “Explain change management in simple terms.”

Option B: From the Search Bar (desktop)

  1. Once logged into LinkedIn learning, locate the Search bar on the top of the page.
  2. Select the Search or Search bar at the top of LinkedIn Learning.
  3. Enter a a learning topic or question.
  4. Review AI-powered recommendations and suggested learning content. This will be listed above the search results.

The AI may provide:

  • Course recommendations
  • Learning paths
  • Suggested skills
  • Summaries and explanations

Option C: During a Course Video

  1. Open a LinkedIn Learning course.
  2. Start playing a course video.
  3. Select the AI Coaching sparkle icon located in the lower-right area of the video player.

  4. The AI Coaching panel will open on the right side of the screen.

  5. Ask questions related to the course content.

Examples:

  • “Summarize this lesson.”
  • “Give me a real-world example.”
  • “Explain this concept differently.”
  • “What are the key takeaways?”

The AI uses course transcript information and learning context to provide responses related to the current lesson.

Option D: From the Mobile App

  1. Open a LinkedIn Learning app.
  2. From the homepage, select the AI Coaching sparkle to open the chat.

  3. Enter a a learning topic or question, then review result. 

How AI Coaching Personalizes Learning

LinkedIn Learning AI Coaching may personalize responses using:

  • Your LinkedIn profile information
  • Job title and role
