We’re excited to share that User Solutions is becoming the Department of Business Process Management (BPM) — a name that better reflects who we are, what we do, and how we support the university.
Why the Change?
This name change is part of a larger effort to refine our focus and clarify the services we provide. As our work has evolved, so has our understanding of where we offer the most value to campus. The name Department of Business Process Management better represents our role as a partner in driving meaningful, strategic improvements.
Rather than broadly supporting all types of user needs, we’re now emphasizing how we:
- Streamline and optimize business processes
- Align operational efforts with institutional goals
- Enable informed decision-making and better outcomes
How We Align with VCFA Strategies
Our refined focus directly supports the VCFA's five strategic priorities:
 |
Actionable Data and Information
We design processes that generate meaningful, accessible data to drive better planning and decision-making. |
 |
Analysis of Operations
We evaluate existing workflows and systems to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness. |
 |
Enhancement of Business Processes
We apply technology and process mapping to reduce complexity and streamline operations. |
 |
Collaboration and Strategic Planning
We partner with campus units and stakeholders to align business process improvements with university-wide goals. |
 |
Employee Development and Compliance
We equip teams with training, documentation, and support to foster adoption and ensure long-term success. |
