Academic Policy 1480.10 Grades and Records of Student Performance
Step 1 – Guidelines
Follow the guidelines for scanning of Scantron tests:
- Pearson 4521 exam forms are preferred, but 6703 forms are also allowed.
- Name, ID, and Special Code fields are left-justified, starting at the far left of the answer area.
- Include an answer key with "AA_KEY" in the Name field.
Note: The Name field can be changed after scanning if necessary.
- Remove stray marks, staples, paperclips, labels, or rubber bands. Do not bend, fold, or mutilate.
- Exams must be completed using #2 pencils.
- Student names and ID numbers are required.
- For large batch drop offs, ensure all exams are secured in numbered envelopes. Alternatively, you can schedule a large drop off by contacting scantron@uark.edu.
- See the prepared Scantron example key and example student form.
Step 2 – Request Form
Complete and print the Drop-off Request Form (PDF) to include with the Scantrons at drop-off.
Step 3 – Drop Off
Drop off the Scantrons with the request form at JBHT 124 (J.B. Hunt building, room 124) during business hours.
Exams are scanned within two business days of being dropped off.
For questions, contact scantron@uark.edu.
Exam Score File Storage and Reports
With the Insight 4ES scanner, faculty are able to retain electronic copies of their student assessments without having to store the physical papers. Individual images are saved for each test submission and reports are generated. All data is saved to OneDrive, and shared with the appropriate faculty member.
Support for importing test scores to Blackboard Learn and generating reports is available at tips.uark.edu.
