Official University WordPress Sites
UARK WordPress hosts websites for research labs, outreach programs, e-publications and other official university purposes. Use the Request New Site button on the right to request a WordPress site for your program or publication. These requests are subject to approval by University Relations, IT Service and your college webmaster. WordPress sites also require an accessibility and usability review before publication, which could take a week to process. Use the Request Website Publication button on the right to request a review and publication.
WordPress sites are available for faculty and staff for the following purposes:
- research lab/facility
- department blog or e-publication
- research center
- special project/campaign/program
- multi-institution project or organization
- music/art studio
- conference/event
- marketing specific micro-sites
- outreach programs
- affinity groups
Items considered during website review:
- Navigation and content make sense, and all content is complete with no filler text.
- Site works well and looks good on mobile devices.
- All links work, and there is appropriate link text (no “click here”).
- University of Arkansas affiliation is clearly and appropriately identified.
- There is clear contact information and links to appropriate college and department in footer.
- All menu items, links, and content areas are accessible through keyboard without using the mouse.
- There is appropriate use of headings and bulleted lists.
- There is appropriate color contrast.

- Images are high-quality and have alt text.

Student WordPress Portfolios
Students can create portfolios for class, as part of an internship, to share with potential employers, as part of a capstone course, to collaborate with others on group or digital humanities projects, and to showcase research.
