ThreatLocker has been deployed for the management of user permissions on university-owned laptops. The implementation of this software allows faculty and staff to continue to have the appropriate access they need to do their work while increasing security and reducing risk to the institution.
If you are prompted to allow a program to run as local administrator on your computer, you can request elevation of that application.

If you are prompted to allow a program to run as local administrator on your computer, you can request elevation of that application.
Procedure for Windows
- When you receive the prompt, select Request ThreatLocker Elevation.
- Enter your email address.
- Enter information about the program that needs access or what you are trying to do.
- Click Send Request to submit the request.
- Once the request has been approved, you will receive a prompt from ThreatLocker.
📌 Note: If you run a recently downloaded application or if there is no response after a brief time, you may not receive the prompts shown. Double-click on the application (.exe) from the File Explorer (file folder icon) and repeat the steps.
If you have issues or questions, contact your department’s Tech Partner. If you need to be an admin on a local computer to bypass ThreatLocker, your Tech Partner must make that request. The Help Desk cannot make approvals for ThreatLocker.
