Display set up details from Walton College:
- You will need a display and compute sticks, such as these are the compute stick models we utilize.
- Set up the image to run on your sticks. This image includes Windows OS, Rise Vision Player, Local (Admin) Account to launch the Rise Vision Player, and some custom scripts of our own that restart the devices on a daily basis (optional).
- Log in to the device with a local account and make sure that windows is up to date. After that set up the auto log on feature.
- To setup auto login, use Windows Key + R in order to bring up the run box and type regeditto get to the windows registry.
- Then follow the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon once in the registry in order to edit the proper entries
- One entry to edit isAutoAdminLogon. Right click this entry and click modify from the subsequent right click menu.
- Once the edit string window pulls up, change the value data field from 0 to1.
- Edit the Default User Name entry in a similar fashion to step 5, except in this case the value data field will be changed to the user name of the local account you are signed in as.
- Lastly in the registry, add a new string value.
- To do this, right click in a blank space in the registry and through the New menu that pops up select string value.
- Once you do this, an empty edit string window will pop up. Enter Default Password into the value name field and for the value data field, enter the password of the local account you are signed in with.
- Once steps 1-9 are completed, restart the device to test the auto logon feature.
- If done correctly, once the device finishes the restart cycle, it will automatically sign in with the designated local account.
- Next will be to setup the Rise Vision Player.
- As long as the Rise Vision Player is installed, type rise into the windows start menu and you should see a start rise vision player option run that.
- When that starts running, a new window will appear asking you to enter a Display ID. Enter the corresponding Display ID to the content you want that stick to show and then click the continue button.
- Rise Vision Player should start up with the intended content, and anytime you restart the device it should auto log in to the local account and run rise player as long as the device is connected to the internet.
