How to Embed a YouTube Video in an Assessment

Summary

Did you find a cool video on YouTube that’s relevant to what you’ve been discussing in class? Did your instructor ask you to find a video for an assignment? This article will walk you through simple instructions on how to embed a YouTube video.

Body

  1. Log in to Blackboard at learn.uark.edu.

  2. Open the Blackboard Learn Ultra class where you want to add the YouTube video.

  3. Browse to the assessment or discussion where you want to share the YouTube video.

  4. Click within the text box, and then click + to add content.

  5. Select YouTube Video from the drop-down menu.

  6. Search for a video to embed by typing your search terms in the search box, then click the Search button.

  7. Click Select next to the video you want to add.

  8. From here, you can change the Alternate Text as well as Display Content. You'll have the options to choose whether you want your video to be shown as a link or to be directly playable in the submission. If displaying the video is not allowed by the browser, it will instead display as a link.

  9. Click Insert when you're happy with your settings, or click Back to Results (bottom left, in blue) if you need to choose a different video.

  10. You can continue to edit your submission once the video is embedded in your assessment. When you are ready to finalize, click the Submit or Reply button, and you're done!
