Body
Articles with outdated content that are no longer needed and will not be updated or are being replaced should be archived. Articles in the knowledge base are not deleted; they are archived and are still accessible if needed.
To archive an article:
- Navigate to the article.
- Click the Edit Article button.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Add the "ARCHIVED:" prefix to the article's Subject so that the article won't be mistakenly attached to a ticket or linked from or related to another article.

- In the Status dropdown field, select Archived. The Published to KB check box will be unchecked.

If a new article has been created as a replacement for the archived article, click into the Replacement Article field, begin typing the Subject of the replacement article, and select it from the dropdown. Assigning a replacement article will allow pre-existing links to this article to redirect to the selected article after this article has been archived.

- Click Save.
Review and update any articles that may be related to or link to the archived article.
