Finding a UUID: The Best Way to Reach Out to Mo Leghari (BNCollege/FirstDay)

Summary

How to retrieve a course's UUID to send to Mo Leghari (BNCollege/FirstDay) when requesting course-specific assistance.

Body

When reaching out to Mo Leghari mleghari@uark.edu about any course-specific issue, please provide the course's "UUID". That value can change when a course is deleted/recreated (can happen when bbadmin is asked to wipe a course), or when courses are merged., so check each time. Here's how to find a course's UUID:

Go to "https://learn.uark.edu/learn/api/public/v1/courses/PK1_HERE" where "PK1_HERE" is replaced by the course's PK1 value. The PK1 value can be found in a course's front-facing URL. For example:

- In the below course URL example, the PK1 is: _467237_1
https://learn.uark.edu/ultra/courses/_467237_1/outline
*This is Course ID 2025_FALL_SOCI_33103_SEC003 (Course ID is also known as an "externalId")

So, to get the UUID for the example course above, the URL you should produce is: https://learn.uark.edu/learn/api/public/v1/courses/_467237_1

The output containing the UUID looks like this in Chrome:

In Chrome, you can check the box for "Pretty-print" in the top-left corner to get a more organized output.

*Note that this output also includes other data that may be useful, like the course's creation date.
